Meet Meredith

“As one who has followed and attended the Planning Board meetings for years, I am excited about the opportunity to serve as a member.  I am strongly committed to preserving the character of Milton, while seeking thoughtful ways to allow development that would enhance the life of all residents.  I believe my depth of understanding and experience in volunteer and professional work would be valuable as we address our most essential projects.   It would be a great honor to serve as a member of the Milton Planning Board!” – Meredith Hall

Meredith has lived in Milton for 27 years and along with her husband David, has raised their three children, Kendall, Parker and Lizzy here.  Originally from Connecticut, She has lived in Brussels, Belgium, Cincinnati and Chicago.  Each of these communities providing inspiration, offering beautiful architecture and thoughtful planning.  Mariemont, the village her family lived in outside of Cincinnati, was a pre-planned community designed by the well-known Town Planner John Nolen.  The village was designed for children, with parks, schools and town center all in walking or biking distance and greatly contributed to the vision she has for Milton.

Meredith feels fortunate to have attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she received a B.S. in Business.  Following graduation, she worked in Chicago as a corporate special events planner and eventually moved into real estate working in the leasing and property management for the Habitat Company, Trammell Crow Residential and Avalon Properties in Boston. Each property she worked for provided high-end affordable housing for residents as well as an example of what affordable housing could be here in her own home town.

Meredith is currently working as an active real estate agent in the Milton Coldwell Banker office, identifying supply/demand and future housing trends.

Driven by her desire to continue imporving the place where her family, and yours, live, work, and attend school Meredith has served on a variety of boards since living in Milton and would bring a unique perspective and understanding to planning for our community.
Her experience includes serving as a member and previous Chair of the Milton Historic Commission, member and past president of the Milton Garden Club, Village School Board member and Chair, Glover School PTO and Cultural Arts Committe, Milton Public School’s MPACE Committee, Cunningham Park Foundation Board, original Community Preservation Act Study Committee, Historic New England Outreach Committee and Town Meeting Member, Precinct 3.

Meredith will give careful and balanced consideration to all projects & issues

For many years I was on the Milton Historical Commission with Meredith.  No member was as persistent as she in working to preserve Milton's history, and she always did the hard work. I remember when she successfully persuaded the builders on one project to reduce the number of houses.  She convinced them that it was important to preserve the historical landscape and to choose architectural designs consistent with the surrounding area.  Meredith Hall will bring a new perspective to our Planning Board and deserves your vote.

I am concerned about preserving Milton's historic resources

Milton's historic resources help us to remember our past as well as add beauty to our present, but understanding that our community will keep on evolving, I am also concerned with the design of our growth ... that care be taken with the position of the structures on lots and with the materials used, and with building and architectural practices employed.
I am supporting you, Meredith, for planning board because I believe you understand these seemingly contradictory pressures and can bring them into a conversation that will benefit Milton. Thank you for running.

We heartily endorse Meredith Hall for the open seat on the Planning Board

We have known Meredith for over fifteen years and observed her commitment to making Milton a better place to live. She is
familiar with every neighborhood and how the Town’s most recent Master Plan relates to those neighborhoods. She fully understands the need to create new housing opportunities for all while taking into consideration the impact on neighborhoods, schools, and the town’s infrastructure. Meredith’s participation on multiple civic and community boards has demonstrated a respect for maintaining the town-like character of Milton while recognizing there is a balance needed to allow for residential and selective commercial redevelopment or development. We can count on Meredith to be a proactive planning board member.

Having an open, transparent process that welcomes, respects and truly listens to the citizens is what Meredith Hall will strive for

"The planning board process can be slow and deliberative.  Every step involves significant details that require thoughtful oversight. During the public process it is important that the citizens and stakeholders have every opportunity to express their concerns and bring forth information relative to the application or article before the board.

I am voting for Meredith Hall because having an open, transparent process that welcomes, respects and truly listens to the citizens is what Meredith Hall will strive for.

I am concerned about preserving Milton's historic resources

I have known Meredith for many years. She is thoughtful and concerned about the many development issues confronting Milton. There is no easy solution for many of these issues, but I have confidence that in any development issue she will carefully listen to the interested parties and then weigh the facts and arrive at the best feasible solution. Meredith has real estate expertise and a love of the Town and its interests and can determine whether proposed development would benefit the Town and its residents. If not, she can offer reasonable alternatives. It is a pleasure to support her candidacy for the Planning Board.

With a 100% support please join me in voting for Meredith in April

As a former Planning Board member from 2001 to 2006, I recall Meredith attending meetings and making constructive comments and suggestions to many critical initiatives. The town Master Plan Review, the Milton Wharf Redevelopment, the preservation of the Fletcher Steele Gardens, the rationale for CPA (back 15 years ago), and the zoning overlay for Central Square to recall a few.
Meredith carries a passion for the town in the Town’s interest, seeking ways to preserve our great history while relating that heritage to the context of todays needs. Behind the scenes and at time front and center Meredith has helped create value in our town.
I can’t think of a greater candidate to help the Planning Board make smart and prudent proposals and decisions on key issues facing the town. Please join me in my support for Meredith Hall for a seat on the Milton Planning Board.
